Salle Ursa Fencing Club runs two annual national competitions: the Coventry Open and the Coventry Sabre LPJS. We also run Achievement Award training days and assessments each term. Multi-day training camps are held in the summer, in the UK and abroad.Upcoming events

Achievement Awards: 12 February 2012
Held on Saturday 12th February at Aylesford School, the Achievement Awards are open to all fencers going for their grade 1, 2 or 3 awards in foil, epee and sabre. E-mail us for an entry form. Applications must be received by Sunday 5th February 2012.

General information about competitions
To enter fencing competitions, you need to be a member of British Fencing Association (BFA). The BFA will issue you with a membership number that will be valid for one year. The current membership fees are: £40 for full adult membership, £30 for juniors (between 13 and 20 years old), £25 for musketeers (under 13). You can read more about the membership benefits and download a membership application form at the BFA website.
Juniors:
The Leon Paul Junior Series is a competition series for fencers under the ages of 11, 13, 15 and 17 years in foil, epee and sabre. You can see the complete junior fencing competitions calendar, access entry forms and find more information on the LPJS website.
Seniors:
To see the season's full list of competitions, you can visit the British Fencing Association's calendar. If you are unsure as to which tournaments to go to, talk to the Salle Ursa coaches at the training sessions.
Veterans:
Men and women over the age of 40 can fence on the veterans fencing competition circuit. Details of competitions and how to join are available on the British Veterans Fencing website.
Wheelchair fencers:
Competitions
and training weekends are organised and co-ordinated by the British
Disabled Fencing Association (BDFA). You can find out more about events
at the BDFA website or at the Salle Ursa Fencing Club notice board at Hereward College.
