About Salle Ursa
Coaches
The Head Coach at Salle Ursa is Peter Rome.
He has been a qualified coach for over 10 years, holds a BSc
degree in Sport and Exercise Science and an England Fencing (EF) Level 5
coaching qualification. Peter has trained a number of cadet and junior
fencers up to international level to compete at World
Championships for Great Britain, Ireland and Wales. He is a
dedicated fencing coach, using his expertise to help all his students to
reach their full potential, let them be international competitors or
hobby fencers. He teaches all the three fencing weapons: sabre, foil and
epee. Peter's latest project is working with members of the British
wheelchair fencing team in their preparation to 2012. Peter's coaching
achievements to date were celebrated by winning Warwick District
Council's Coach of the Year Award in 2010. Peter is a national Coach
Educator at British Fencing. If you are interested in becoming a fencing

Detti Toth is the club's Secretary and an Assistant Coach. Detti is a foilist and and EF Level 2 fencing coach in foil, epee and sabre, currently training for Level 3. Detti aims to develop Salle Ursa with particular focus on providing the opportunity for beginners to get into fencing. She is the current Warwickshire county and West Midlands regional champion in women’s foil and holds several voluntary roles in fencing: Secretary at Warwickshire Fencing Union, Youth Secretary at West Midlands BFA, Senior Women’s Epee Captain at British Fencing.
Vivien Frith is the club's Treasurer and an EF Level 2 Assistant Coach. Viv specialises in sabre in competitions and coaching. A Commonwealth Champion, Viv has qualified to fence at the Veteran's World Chamionships, where she has achieved a bronze medal previously. Viv is lead coach at our Rugby junior sessions.
